International Management Approach - Our Students Profile

 
Our Masters programmes are designed for young scientific candiates, MSc and PhD students, that like science but want to develop their career outside of the laboratory, in management positions, in biotechnology based companies, the pharmaceutical industry or government institutions, such as technology transfer offices.
 
 

Barcelona Panel of Lecturers and Teaching Staff

The BBI Barcelona’s different programmes are taught by a panel of experienced lecturers, who are currently working in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Technology and Biotechnology industries and have the practical and theoretical experience of the drug discovery processes and other aspects of commercial innovation. The Barcelona team will also draw on the Cambridge Panel of Lecturers for some of the teaching remit, especially across the broader Life Sciences’ sector. The Barcelona Campus will have its own wellbeing officer to support students' personal needs during their course.

After successfully passing the all the required evaluations and approval of the final MBA Thesis, Dissertation or Business Plan, which is evaluated by a panel of industry experts, the minimum requirements for the qualification will have been achieved. Under the current academic European standards, based on the required number if credits according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), students will receive a certificate awarded by the Biotechnology Business Institute, which is an independent privately owned Business School focused on the education in biotechnology.

Our programmes are a full-time programme compatible with ongoing jobs positions and career development pathways, with classes from Monday to Thursday at the PCB campus.

The assignments develop during the year are based in real IP projects from our agreement with three of the main technology transfer offices in Barcelona.

  • question_answerThe BBI Experience What is a typical day for a BBI student like?

    Every day is different throughout the year. During the first stage, when students take their common modules, apart from the evening classes from Monday to Thursday, the students also develop their career impact programmes. These programmes have their project meetings at various research centres and participate in extra-curriculum activities.

    For the final semester in Barcelona, each student develops their own academic internship programme depending on their chosen career itinerary chosen. All programmes have the same number of assignments and group work to complete. Typically, the second semester is focused increasing the time spent on students’ career-related activities.
