Roi has over 15 years of experience in Innovation. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Biomedicine from the University Complutense of Madrid, UCM, the CORE diploma from Harvard Business School and the Programme for Management Development, PMD, from ESADE. His career as an innovator in healthcare has been developed in Big Pharma, Research Centres, Start-ups, Venture Capital, and Government Agencies.
With an impact focus in inclusivity, and social justice as primary values for better innovation, he started his political career as Chief of Staff at the University Department for Innovation and Digital Transformation in the Government of Navarra, and he is currently working at the European environment for innovation as Advisor on Innovation and Industry Policy in the European Parliament in Brussels.
Roi founded and chaired PRISMA, the Association for Affective-Sexual and Gender Diversity in Science, Technology, and Innovation, as well as Comunica Biotec, the Association of Biotechnology Communicators in Spain. He also led the health 2.0 Madrid meetings before moving the public sector in innovation for more than four years.
As an Immunologist he published several articles in specialized journals. He has mentored many start-ups and participated as a lecturer of several acceleration programmes and he also publishes opinion articles on innovation in various Spanish media formats.
