Martha Laura´s passion is entrepreneurship and technology innovation, therefore she is dedicated to leave a better world operating as an angel investor and fund manager in the Venture Capital Industry. She is focused in early stage startups in areas of healthtech, foodtech, agtech, biotech and the intersection of those with fintech. Preferably the startups should be operating or willing to operate in LATAM. She has invested in startups related with health, software industries, foodtech, insurtech, medical devices, and helped food and bigdata companies with fundraising strategies.

She was Regional Director at Mexican Association of PE & VC Funds (AMEXCAP), operating in Guadalajara City from 2017-2019. And she was in charge of innovation incentives at EY MEXICO, as an advisor for big and medium companies as well as working with entrepreneurs and startups, defining innovation and fundraising strategy.

During 2012 she graduated from IPADE-ADECAP, considering a new financial model for science entrepreneurs that consider crowdfunding and new company creation. As founder of SIP INNOVATION a Technology Transfer Certified Office by CONACYT and Economy Secretary, she managed more than 50 Million in grants for technology innovation cases. In year 2010 she was in charge of the patent contest with more than 80 cases as part of the Innovation Coordination at UNAM University in Mexico City, more than 25 patents were filed.

Always active in professional associations as LES INTERNATIONAL and AMPPI, she was focused in identifying key opportunities to commercialize new technology and startups with technology innovations, participating as invited lecturer in many conferences and seminars in Brussels, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, New Zealand and Peru during these last 7 years.

She represented Mexico at WIPO-WTO during the intensive course for developing countries for the topic Technology Transfer in Mexico and Latin America in 2010. And she was the first member of Intellectual Property Exchange Program between Japan and Mexico, from Japanese International Cooperation Agency, developed together with Osaka Institute of Technology. Osaka Japan, 2009.
She has a master’s in science and Technology Commercialization from University of Texas in 2010. And a chemical engineer title from U. Simón Bolivar in Venezuela.
